Twisters Trounce Talons

It started as a back and forth tennis match sort of game, but the Twisters made the most of Tulsa's turnovers to defeat the Talons 66-54. By defeating the Talons at the Tulsa Civic center the Twisters ended Tulsa's 12 home game winning streak and also left the Talons with a L for their last regular season game ever in the Tulsa Civic Center.

The Twisters are at home for the final 2 games of the regular season. After that the Twisters will have at least one home playoff game as they continue their march toward the championship.

Congrats to Kyle Rowley

Kyle Rowley (6-0, 195, Brown), in his fifth af2 season, had his best outing of the season for Arkansas in the team’s big victory over division rival Tulsa. Rowley’s 402 passing yards and nine touchdowns were the major reason the Twisters pulled out the victory on the road. The veteran quarterback from Brown has thrown for 300 or more yards in three games this season and is one of two QBs to break the 400 mark. With a new team record (402 passing yards in a game), Rowley has helped the league’s hottest team move into the top spot in the Central Division with a seven-game winning streak (the longest in Twisters history). After starting his career with the Charleston Swamp Foxes in 2003, Rowley has played for the Columbus Wardogs, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers, the Manchester Wolves, the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings, and the Spokane Shock, where he won the 2006 ArenaCup. He also played a stint in the AFL last season. Rowley leads the league in pass efficiency with a 124.7 passer rating. He has thrown 73 touchdowns, only six interceptions, and a total of 3761 yards passing, which ranks second in the league.

Club Awards

It's almost the end of the regular season and we need to get to thinking about the trophies for the Banquet. It comes at such short notice that we need to be prepared. The trophies are given for the following:

  • Hardest Hit
  • Extra Effort
  • Best Celebration Dance
Please put on your thinking caps and email your votes no later than the Sunday after the last regular season game. We know we are going to the playoffs and we hope all the way to the cup game but we also need to be ready as the banquet usually comes the first of the week following the last game. One vote each catagory for individual membership and two votes each catagory for family memberships.
