Twisters Win at the Buzzer

A 12-yard field goal by Rowan Taylor with 1.4 seconds remaining in regulation gave the Arkansas Twisters (9-4) a 57-54 win over the Rio Grande Valley Dorados (6-5) at Dodge Arena Saturday night i n front of 4,410 fans.

Aaron Fairooz led the Twisters with five TD catches and 124 yards. His 38-yard catch late in the fourth quarter set up the field goal attempt for Taylor.

The Dorados took a 40-27 lead into the half thanks to a pair of Craig Turner rushing TD’s and Nick Hill’s three TD passes. Hill also ran for a TD from the 1-yeard line. RGV’s Dahnel Singfield turned in a pair of first half interceptions, while Turner continually gave RGV good field position on kickoffs with 125 first half yards.

Arkansas knotted things up to start the second half on a pair of TD catches by Fairooz. The teams traded TDs, including another kickoff return TD by Ware.

The Twisters will take the week off before hosting the Corpus Christi Sharks on July 11th at Alltel Arena. It is Circus night with the Twisters and you will have a chance to qualify to win a car! Get your tickets by calling 501-975-KICK (5425)




Twisters Football and Little Siren's Dance Camp


The Arkansas Twisters Football Clinic begins on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. For registration information contact (501) 975-KICK or any participating Verizon store. Cost is free and participants will receive a free ticket to the July 18th game and a T-shirt

TThe Little Sirens Dance Clinic begins on Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. The Little Sirens will perform during the July 18th game at half-time. Cost is $40. For more information contact (501) 975-KICK.

Siren Sara Beth Wyatt has been selected as a finalist in the Aaron’s af2 Dream Team. The 2009 Aaron’s af2 Dream Team will be involved in ArenaCup10 activities including performing during halftime of the championship game and appearances throughout the weekend of events. The team will be a special 12-member group comprised of dance team standouts from around the af2.

Voting started May 18th and runs for the next 10 week. You can only vote once per day....but you can vote every day!
